School Fee Information

The School Fee, the Student Fee and Capital Fee are reviewed by the school annually after receiving advice from the Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL), and are an important part of the school’s overall financial plan.

School Fees

School fees are essential for the continued growth of our school as they are used to buy school equipment, maintain the buildings and pay for gas, electricity, etc. Not only are they are sign of your deliberate commitment to provide a Catholic Education for your child but they are also a prerequisite for the school if it is to be eligible for Government funding.

School Fees for 2024 are: Family Fee: $1,300.00

Total Student Fees : Student Fees are put towards the purchase of stationery and classroom materials, class texts, art craft materials, P.E & music resources, photocopy paper, the school year book, cultural levy for visiting performances and it also includes payment for the year’s swimming program and camps.

Costs for 2024 are: F/1/2 $395   Yr3 $475    Yr4 $665  Yr5 $835     Yr6 $935 Incl shirt, hat, headphones

Family Tuition Fees - this fee applies to all families regardless of the number of children at the school. $1,300 per year or $325.00 per term only or $32.50 per week over 40 weeks.  Setting up a direct debit through our CDF bank is our preferred method of payment. Please contact Debbie or Leah at the office if you would like to implement this. School Fees can be paid by installments into our bank account. Our bank details are NAB, BSB 083-561 A/C 754103698 and use your name as the reference.

Family Assistance Scheme- This scheme was introduced 6 years ago by the Catholic Education Office to make Catholic Education more accessible for those families in need. This scheme means that all families with a health care card can send their children to a Catholic school for a cost of $10 per week or $520 per year, this fee covers tuition and capital fees.  To be eligible to receive the FAS, you must:

• Be either a parent or guardian of a primary or secondary school student, up to the age of sixteen.
• Be an eligible beneficiary of a Centrelink pension, allowance or benefit with the meaning of the State Concessions Act 2004 or be a Veterans Affairs (TPI) pensioner or be a foster parents.
• Submit your application to the school by the due date.

Student Fee : The student fee will be $365 for Foundation to Gr 2, $375 for Grade 3 & 4 $425 for Grade 5 and $460 for Grade 6. The Student Fee includes, the swimming levy (below) and also includes all exercise books, scrap books, art/craft materials, class text books, headphones for Gr 5/6, The Resilience Project books and the cultural levy. The Grade 6 fee also includes the Grade 6 T-shirt & hat. Within the Student Fee each subject area has been allocated an individual budget that allows us to expand our resource base and help with classroom costs, helps pay for online subscriptions as well as a $20 Cultural Levy that covers our visiting performances.

Camps & Excursions : All camps and excursions are now charged at the start of the year; it is our expectation that all children will participate in our camps & excursion program which is tied to the curriculum. We have allocated a figure based on previous years, however the actual final figure may vary as we get into actual costs. Foundation/1/2 - $30, Grade 3 camp $100, Grade 4 camp $290, Grade 5 camp $410 and Grade 6 - $430

Swimming levy : This program will cost $100-$110 depending on the year level.  This fee has been included in the student fee above.

School Year Book : The cost for our school yearbook - 1 per family is $25

Capital Fee : The capital fee per family is $320. This Capital Fee goes towards a number of areas in regards to capital works at the school, either helping to repay loans, to maintain capital purchases eg. new staff room, computer purchases or to put towards capital building improvements required.

Maintenance Levy : All families will pay a maintenance fee of $50 which will go towards the employment of our maintenance person.

Fundraising Levy : $100

Conveyance Allowance : The Conveyance Allowance assists families with the cost of transporting their children to and from school. Where a private vehicle travels more than 4.8km to pick up or drop off students at a Contract or MRC bus pick up point, parents can apply for the reimbursement applicable through the Private Car Conveyance Allowance application.  For those students who travel on a St Patrick’s or Mercy Regional College owned or chartered bus, instead of the College charging parents a fare for their child to travel on one of these buses, the College makes a claim to the Government for Conveyance Allowance on behalf of the parents of that child. This allowance then helps offset some of the cost of chartering buses to transport our students.  Parents of children travelling on a St Patrick’s or MRC owned/chartered bus are asked to complete the Private Bus Conveyance Allowance application.Please contact the office if you drive your child more than 4.8km to the bus stop, you may be eligible to receive conveyance allowance.

Sacramental Fee : Please note that a Sacramental Fee has not been included. The Sacramental Program will have an extra fee for those children in Grade 2, 3 & 4 (or other older grades) who are involved. This will be explained at the sacramental meeting set for some time in first term.

It is our policy that all school fees are to be finalized by the end of October each year. Please contact the office if you would like to set up a payment plan.

Additional materials:

Gr. P-2 parents are asked to provide:                               

• art smock (an old adult T-shirt is best)
• 2 large boxes of tissues (crayons, pencils etc. will be provided)

Gr. 3 - 6 parents are asked to provide:

• pencil case (no large wooden boxes)
• coloured pens, textas and highlighters
• 2 large boxes of tissues
• Scissors
• Ruler (wooden or plastic only)

It is strongly suggested that Grade 5/6 students also purchase a memory stick for long term storage of work. Please note we have added headphones as a requirement for our Gr 5 & 6 children for 2024. (The school will purchase these).

These resources will need to be brought to school along with the school library bag that all children should have.
