Our Prayer
From the Principal
Dear parents and carers,
This week is Catholic Education Week where we celebrate the wonderful opportunities for learning and growing in the 63 schools of the Ballarat Diocese. The diocese celebrates 150 years this year. We have our Open Day tomorrow where prospective parents have the opportunity to see what we have to offer at St Patrick's. Hopefully you have seen some of the media material from our school in the papers and online.
Mother's Day
Mother's Day this year is on Sunday 12th of May. We would like to wish all of our St Patrick's mothers every happiness on this special occasion. We will celebrate the occasion on Friday 10th of May with a mothers day stall organised by the P&F where simple gifts are available for purchase. Parents do not need to donate a gift to the stall this year. Parents are asked to send their child/children with $5 to purchase something from the stall.
We will not be having a "Mother's Day Breakfast" this year for the following reasons:
- Not all parents are able to make the breakfast
- Some families do not have a mother as a primary carer
- The costs for the event are now significant
We are holding an alternative afternoon tea for mothers, which will take place on Friday the 10th of May at 1.30pm in the Library, followed by a whole school assembly in the Shine Big Room.
Staff Update
Vickie Mahony has informed us that she will be resigning from her position at St Patrick's, effective at the end of Term 2. Vickie has supported the school in many ways over the last 20 years and has always shown a passion and love of teaching. We wish her all the best for the future.
With the commencement of her family leave at the end of the Term 2, Amy Wynd will also be finishing up at this time. We are now beginning the process of finding replacements for both of these roles.
Open Day for 2025 Foundation Students
SAC Meeting
The monthly SAC meeting is on tomorrow night, the 30th April, in the staff room at 7pm.
School Photo Day
Our school photo day will be held this Wednesday the 1st of May.
A MSP Photography envelope has been sent home with your child. If you have not returned your child's envelope, can you please send it with them tomorrow.
If you wish to order your photos online the envelope does not need to be returned to school.
All students are required to wear their summer uniform.
Grade 3/4PB & Grade 5/6C need to come dressed in their school unifrom and bring their sport uniform to get changed into after their photo has been taken.
Grade 1WA & 2M are most welcome to bring their runners to wear for PE, but they will not need to get changed out of their school uniform for their PE class.
The Week Ahead
HCSN Network Day
Our annual Hampden Catholic Schools Network Day will be held next Monday the 6th May.
Our grade 5 & 6 students will spend the day at St Colmans' in Mortlake. The grade 3 & 4's will go to St Thomas' in Terang and the F - 2 students will remain at St Patrick's on the day.
A PAM permission was made available last week for students in Grades 3-6 for you to complete to enable your child to attend. If you have not given permission for your child to attend (on PAM) as yet, please do so at your earliest convenience.
