Grandparents Day Prayer
Friday 26th of July is the feast of Saint Joachim and Anne and on this day we celebrate Grandparents Day where we recognise the contribution grandparents make to our families and our community.
From the Principal
Dear parents and carers,
Term 3 has started well despite the cold, wet weather that is keeping us inside for many of our break times. The children are showing great resilience and the staff are providing many outside opportunities when there is a break in the weather during the day.
LEARNING AND TEACHING
School Reports & Parent/Teacher Interviews
Our school reports were released in PAM late last term and we hope you have had an opportunity to read about your child's progress. We will follow these up now with our Parent/Teacher Interviews tomorrow on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th of July. If you have not yet booked an appointment, please go into the PAM app and find a convenient time to meet and discuss your child's progress.
Taster Day
Last Thursday we hosted kindergarten children from Cobden, Camperdown, Simpson and Banana Splits to our Taster Day. These children enjoyed a morning of fun and friendship, participating in activities in STEM, PE & Auslan/Health.
Foundation Grandparents Day
On Friday this week the Foundation class celebrate the feast of Saint Joachim and Anne by celebrating Grandparents Day Mass and morning tea with grandparents who are able to attend. This is always a wonderful celebration for our Foundation families each year.
The week ahead
First Aid in Schools
St John's Ambulance Australia are providing our students with a basic overview of the principles of first aid tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd of July. Across the day, each class will participate in a 45 minute session with the facilitators. We hope the children will learn valuable skills that may help them in an emergency situation.
Super Brain Dance Workout
We have been offered an opportunity to work with Maggie Flanagan who is an Early Childhood Educator, Counsellor, and Wellness/ Nutrition/Fitness coach. She will conduct a Super Brain Dance Workout for our 3/4 students today. This will be a great opportunity to warm up and get our brains moving.
Green and Gold Day
Friday 2nd August is when we will celebrate all things Olympics, with a wear your Aussie colours day at school.
Children can come dressed in their green & gold colours, no cost to students. ( Ours gold shirts will be perfect!)

CATHOLIC SCHOOL CULTURE
Message Sticks
To mark the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Ballarat, five Message Sticks were created to symbolise the ongoing message of love, care and education in our 63 schools. They will simultaneously journey to each Catholic school across the four education zones of the Diocese. A Mother Stick will remain in the central Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB) Office to which the four travelling Message Sticks are indelibly linked.
On Friday at assembly, we welcomed the arrival of one of five Message Sticks to St Patrick's Primary School with an explanation and liturgy. This stick will be used in lessons, meetings and activities all this week, before it continues its journey on to St Thomas' Terang next week.

LEADERSHIP AND STEWARDSHIP
Save the date
Our St Patrick's Trivia Night is being held on Friday August 2nd, pop this in your diary!
This is always a great social night for the St Pat's parent community and a great initiative of our P&F. Please contact the school office ASAP to book a table or join with others to make a table.
Building Progress
We were blessed by the favourable weather for the majority of the build which means we are still on target for a handover of the senior wing early in Term 4. We have reached lockup now with most of the brickwork complete and windows and doors installed. Plumbing and electricals are just being completed and we have begun plaster work. Unfortunately (although much needed) the rain has created muddy areas in our yard, and we are trying to avoid these areas.

TheirCare
Enrolments are now open!
Theircare has now commenced at St Patrick's School and it's not too late to enrol.
We are excited to announce that we have now partnered with an independent Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider called TheirCare.
TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children. During sessions, children develop life-skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity through play-based programs.
We look forward to welcoming TheirCare to the St Patrick’s Primary School Camperdown community in 2024.
