From the Principal
Dear parents and carers,
We have reached the halfway mark of Term 3 and are now heading downhill to the school holidays. Many of you have seen the progress of our building program as we move closer to the completion date. The project is ahead of schedule and on budget at this stage. Stage 1 is due for completion on the 1st of November, and we hope our students will move into the new building on this day. Stage 2 involves removing the portable building and returning the yard to a play space for the children. This is due to be completed on December 20th, the final day of Term 4. This means we will return to school next year with a new school yard to enjoy.
LEARNING AND TEACHING
Spelling Championships
Our 5/6 students have been busy practising their spelling words!
Week 1 of the Spelling Championships was held today.
The results from today's test will be available next week.
The Week Ahead
Hoop Time Basketball
The 5/6 Rookies Hooptime Basketball competition was held last Friday in the Camperdown Stadium. We entered three teams who enjoyed the opportunity to play against other schools in our sports association.
Thanks to Tom, Narelle and Mel P who coached the teams on the day.
Book Week - This Friday!
Our parade will be held in the Bigroom from 9.10am, parents are welcome to attend. This will be followed by literacy and art/creative activities. Assembly will be held at 2.15pm.

Uniform Display
After a long consultation period and planning, the prototypes of our new uniform are on display in the school foyer for parents to view. We are still working through a process to find a supplier so a little more patience is needed before we can buy new items.
Known Dates
Below is a list of known dates at this stage for the rest of this year.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Father's Day at St Pat's
Father's Day will be celebrated on Sunday the 1st of September this year.
We are excited to be hosting our Father’s Day afternoon tea and assembly next Friday the 30th of August.
This is a new format for this year to try to take the pressure off some parents who found it difficult to get their family to the breakfast and to provide an opportunity where children can share their thoughts around their fathers through prayer, song, poetry and gifts at our assembly.
Afternoon tea in the library will commence at 1.30pm, with assembly at 2.15pm.
The P&F will also be running a Father's Day Stall to allow our students to buy a special gift for their father/special person. There is no need to send in a present. The P&F have bought the presents for your children to purchase from the stall for $5 each.
TheirCare
Theircare has now commenced at St Patrick's School and it's not too late to enrol.
We are excited to announce that we have now partnered with an independent Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider called TheirCare.
TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children. During sessions, children develop life-skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity through play-based programs.

Happy Birthday to the following students who will celebrate their birthday this week.
