From the Principal
Dear parents and carers,
This Wednesday the 28th of August is the beginning of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The mainstream Olympics gives us stories of excellence, achievement and success. The Paralympics are more about courage, support, friendship and inclusion. We will be using these stories to reinforce these ideals with our children.
Book Week
We had an enormous day on Friday with our Book Week celebrations at St Patrick's. The joy and enthusiasm for the day saw children loving the activities we did in classrooms across the school and the amazing costumes worn in our book week parade. Thank you to the parents for the enormous effort put into the outfits the children wore.
LEARNING AND TEACHING

The Week Ahead
HoopTime Basketball
It was the 3/4 All Stars turn to play in the Hooptime Basketball competition last Friday in the Terang Stadium. We entered two teams who both won their competitions and will move on to the next level. Well done to the children who were involved.

Uniform Display
After a long consultation period and planning, the prototypes of our new uniform are on display in the school foyer for parents to view. We are still working through a process to find a supplier so a little more patience is needed before we can buy new items.
Known Dates
Below is a list of known dates at this stage for the rest of this year.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Father's Day at St Pat's
Father's Day will be celebrated on Sunday the 1st of September this year.
We are excited to be hosting our Father’s Day afternoon tea and assembly this Friday the 30th of August.
This is a new format for this year to try to take the pressure off some parents who found it difficult to get their family to the breakfast and to provide an opportunity where children can share their thoughts around their fathers through prayer, song, poetry and gifts at our assembly.
Afternoon tea in the library will commence at 1.30pm, with assembly at 2.15pm.
The P&F will also be running a Father's Day Stall to allow our students to buy a special gift for their father/special person. There is no need to send in a present. The P&F have bought the presents for your children to purchase from the stall for $5 each.
TheirCare
Theircare has now commenced at St Patrick's School and it's not too late to enrol.
We are excited to announce that we have now partnered with an independent Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider called TheirCare.
TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children. During sessions, children develop life-skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity through play-based programs.
For further information, visit www.theircare.com.au or call our support office on 1300 072 410
Birthdays
Happy Birthday to the following students who will celebrate their birthday this week.
