Week 1 Prayer
From the Principal
Greetings everyone, welcome to Term 4.
I hope that the break was a time of rest and relaxation for many.
As we welcome the new term, we look forward to the many experiences it will provide for students, staff and families.
For me as a principal stepping into a new community I am excited to return to the school where I first started my teaching career, way back in 1997. I am keen to build upon the great work that has gone on to also assist with the transition towards a new principal in 2025.
Should any family wish at any stage to speak with me I encourage you to contact me on principal@spcamperdown.catholic.edu.au to arrange a time to chat, or simply pop in and if I'm able to, we can chat then.
I look forward to seeing many of you over the course of the term.
Staffing Updates: I am pleased to announce that Liam Bishop will fill the vacancy in Gr 5/6 left by Georgia Copeland's departure. Liam will be familiar to many having previously worked in our school. Liam is currently overseas and will commence in Week 3 so we are grateful to Paul Kingston who will fill this position until Liam's arrival. We look forward to welcoming Liam back into our community.
Titmus Family Support: We are grateful to all community members who have provided support in various ways to the Titmus family. As communicated to our families over the holidays, the school has also done a great deal in a number of ways and will continue to do so for as long as required. If any family would like to assist with support, please contact the school office to discuss ways in which this can occur.
Sympathies: As a community we pass on our sympathies to the Hutt, Titmus and Glennen families on the passing of Jenny, a much-loved mother and grandmother. May their memories of her live long in their hearts and may she rest in eternal peace.
Enjoy the week ahead, Ben.
School Closure Day
Our final closure day is on Monday the 4th of November, which is the day before the Melbourne Cup public holiday. Please ensure that these days are in your calendar.
TheirCare will be offering all day care on this day for families experiencing difficulty finding carers for their children.
School Fees
Just a reminder that we are three quarters of the way through the school year! Our governing body is looking at our fee collection and will be asking questions about any fees that haven't either been paid, have a payment plan or signed paperwork very soon. It is a requirement by DOBCEL that all school fees are paid by the end of the year. If you haven't set up a payment plan yet or signed paperwork stating how you intend to pay, please contact the office ASAP.
If you need any assistance or have any questions please contact Debbie, thank you.
Intentions for 2025
It is that time of year where we are planning for the 2025 school year.
If you know that your circumstances are changing, and your children will not be attending St Patrick's next year it would be appreciated if you could please email principal@spcamperdown.catholic.edu.au so that this can be factored into our 2025 planning.
School Hats
As the weather is warming up it is important that you send your child's hat into school. Don't forget to name it!
The children are not allowed outside without their hat this term.
Food Bank
We are asking our school community to provide meals for our Food Bank.
If you are able, it would be much appreciated if you could send some meals into school for the freezer.
This will help our families that are in need at this point in time.
5/6 Fun Day
Our annual 5/6 Fun Day was held on the last Thursday of Term 3.
The children had a fantastic day and raised a total of $1,810!
Well done to all the Grade 5/6 children and families for their efforts to make it such a successful day!
LEARNING AND TEACHING
Spelling Championships
The Spelling Championship final was held in the last week of Term 3.
Congratulations to Charlotte Dean & Ike Valckx who were awarded the Spelling Champions for 2024.

We are excited to announce that we have now partnered with an independent Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider called TheirCare.
TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children. During sessions, children develop life-skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity through play-based programs.
