Week 1 Prayer

From the Principal

Dear School Community,

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all staff, families, and students for the incredibly warm and welcoming reception I’ve received. From my very first day, I’ve felt embraced and supported, and it’s clear that this school is more than just a place of learning—it’s a true community. Your kindness and inclusivity have made me feel like I belong to a family, and I am excited to work alongside each of you to continue building a positive, nurturing environment for all. Thank you for making my transition so special!

In our gathering back at school this week we mark the beginning of a new journey, a journey made new, not only
by the beginning of this school year, but made new by the presence and unique gifts that we bring to our school community. This year's diocesan theme is taken from a scripture reading of the Romans-
May the God of Hope fill you with Joy and Peace.

As we embark on a new journey for the 2025 school year, we ask for God’s presence and guidance in nurturing the needs of the children in our care, so that they may bring Hope, Joy and Peace to their future communities.

Please take the time to celebrate your school by engaging in the weekly newsletter. The newsletter will be published each Monday to celebrate the previous week and share important events that are on the way. This week's newsletter is brief, yet important to familiarise yourself with important dates and events, ensure you remain in contact with the school and of course admire our newest Foundation students.

Welcome to our Foundation Students

Welcome to our new Foundation students for 2025. They had a great first day at St Patrick's.

We hope that you have an awesome first year at school.

PE Timetable

This Friday and next Friday the following classes will have PE -  3/4C, 5/6A, 2B & FB.

Next week's newsletter will have further information on PE classes!

Parent teacher chats

We are holding an opportunity for parents to meet their child's teacher on Monday February 3rd and Monday February 10th.

Grade 3-6 Swimming

The Grade 3-6 swimming program starts next week.

Opening School Mass

Our opening school mass will be held on Friday the 14th of February at 11.30 am at St Patrick's Church, with all families welcome to attend. 

Theircare

Our providers have made us aware that our numbers are at a low level and the level of service that was initially indicated as being required has not lived up to initial survey results.

The reality is that the service is in jeopardy.   

If you need childcare for your child in 2025 there are spots available.

Cobden Tech School Bus Changes

Bus pass rules have changed for CTS coordinated busses. A bus pass can be given for students to travel on another bus within their own bus network. If your child travels on a different bus network, they are no longer able to travel on the CTS network buses.

Bus passes will not be given.  

Canteen

The first day for the canteen is Friday the 31st of January. The canteen will continue to be closed on a Monday.

Please download the Spriggy App and make your orders through there. 

Noone's Uniform

Noone's have stock of our new uniform available for purchase.

The shop is located in the Mercy Regional College building.

The uniform shop is open tomorrow Thursday,  from 10am till 2.00pm and Friday 8.00am till 12.00pm.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser

The P&F have locked in a date to host a BBQ fundraiser at Bunnings in Warrnambool. The date set aside for this is Saturday, 15th of February 2025.  

The sausage sizzle will run from 9am - 4pm.

If you could spare an hour or two on this day and volunteer some time, please contact the office.

TheirCare

Theircare has now commenced at St Patrick's School and it's not too late to enrol.

We are excited to announce that we have now partnered with an independent Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider called TheirCare.

TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children. During sessions, children develop life-skills, friendships, confidence, and creativity through play-based programs.
